As most of you know, I am the very first few non-PBA staff to fall into the Teluk Bahang Dam whilst transcending boats and holding on to a 3CCD video camera..
Here is the story :
Captains Log : Stardate 10.6.05 : Time 16.30-ish
While cruising along in a Marine Police sampan, shooting video of the Penang International Dragonboat Festival competitors during thier practice sessions, an idea formed in my mind. Wouldn’t it be great to get some actions shots ON the boat itself.
Promptly after that thought popped into mind, we (the concepts multimedia crew) saw another camera-man drenched from head-to-toe, huddled in the MIDDLE of the PDRM team’s boat.
"fuck that…" i said.
But hey! Lo and behold! All the other boat drummers aren’t getting wet!
Idea creeps back
"What if i sat at the drummers seat? No wet get I…"
Along come the Singapore German Dragons…without a drummer…
*pop* idea!
"Dudes! Can i hope on board to video your practice sessions?" say me
"Come on! Your’e welcomed!!" say they.
Now this is where the marine police dreber inches his way close to the front of ze dragonboat…
1 leg accross at the front (and mind you, there is only space for 1 foot) and to my dismay, i find out that me dreber not put on engine.
So, I do the split.
Mind - "i will be like water…"
SubMind - "Save Camera.."
Body - "Prepare for entry.."
Hand - "Grab on to sampan at last moment and fling camera on board.."
Eyes - "I see sky>boat>sky>water>boat>water…"
Splurge! Camera saved. Cameraman wet. Singapore German Dragons laugh. Own Concepts crew - dillema (to laugh or to help?)
